Abstract
A civilization may fade away, but its memory remains – a metonym that can be used for the Harappan Civilisation (c. 4000 BCE – 1300 BCE). The pride of this civilization is a comprehensive of urban planning, lofty levels of the organization of public life, sanitation, architecture and also an extensive drainage system that have no equals in that epoch. The Harappans were also well acquainted with the utilization of hydraulic engineering. No wonder, American archaeologist Walter Ashlin Fairservis Jr. called the Harappans “master hydraulic engineers.” The objective of this research paper is to cultivate learning, appreciate a civilization which is characterised by its distinctiveness and novelty, as well as augment one’s knowledge by revisiting ancient perspectives of the past. This study draws upon secondary sources to augment its theme.
